Director of Finance And Operations Full Time

Fit is seeking an experienced finance and operations professional to direct and manage the accounting operations of three restaurants facilities and marina. Restaurant operations and accounting experience is high preferred, as well as Restaurant365 software. This is a “hands-on” role and the position works closely with the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and prepare weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts across all entities, accounting for the seasonality of Gulf Coast restaurants, and present to management
• Analyze ingredient cost by dish. Must have understanding of the nuances of food cost, including various units of measurement, portion sizing, and recipe changes
• Analyze and streamline inventory management across 3 restaurants, including food and retail. Work with Director of Restaurant Operations to determine reorder points
• Effectively communicate and facilitate the flow of paperwork from delivery point to entry into accounting system. Be capable and comfortable with holding personnel accountable
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for restaurants and marina, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and renewal of boat slip lease agreements
• Manage and train existing accounting personnel
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely issuance of financial statements
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax
• Analyze financial performance, including identifying areas of improvement and providing recommendations to management
• Manage relationships with external advisors, including 3rd party accounting firms, banks, and other institutions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA or CMA designation preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management and accounting
• Restaurant experience required
• Ability to communicate effectively, garner respect, and demand accountability is required
• Willing to work weekends when necessary
• Ability to react quickly to situations and problem solve
• Experience with Restaurant365 software strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with intercompany transactions strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
