Fit is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join an existing HR team with a reputable company here in Mobile, AL. Position is full time paying in the $40K-$50K range depending on experience.
RESPONSILBILITES:
Ensure that all payroll information has been received from management.
Enter absences into time clock system.
Check time cards for missed punches and ensure all corrections have been made.
Make any necessary requested changes to employee data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Ensure garnishments are responded to, entered, and filed appropriately.
Run an absentee report to ensure all salaries are correct and earnings needed are computed.
Audit payroll related items, such as extra pay, reimbursements, deductions, salary changes, sick/vacation earnings, overtime earnings, bonuses, etc. for accuracy.
Process manual checks as needed.
Verify payroll is accurate before sending to HRIS for processing.
Create and run all payroll reports required by management.
E-Verify I-9 Documentation for all employees.
Prepare new employee files.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree
2 + years experience in payroll services
Knowledge of payroll laws and Federal and State employment laws
Proficient accounting knowledge
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
